About the Program

Computer lab

The Bear Code is a coding program at Tuxedo Park School for students in grades 6–9. Kids start by mastering essential concepts — data types, algorithms, control flow — then bring their ideas to life with interactive programs like Mad Libs, Hangman, and number-guessing games. From there they level up into game design: custom sprites, character animation, real-world physics in their own 2D games. Along the way they pick up problem-solving, logical thinking, and a head start on topics like object-oriented programming.
